Microsoft has also entered the fray with a dedicated malicious software (malware) removal tool available at www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

They now also provide a live, online, scanning service which appears to be excellent despite it's Beta status.A mandatory download of scanning software is required.
